Our Founder​

Laurens Trebes lived in Venezuela for almost twenty years, where he had the opportunity to participate in numerous expeditions in the South American Amazon. These experiences have fueled a passion for nature and a deep understanding of how living organisms thrive in their environments. Through observation, Trebes realized that a healthy life depends not only on the availability of nutrients, but also on an organism's ability to metabolize these nutrients. A weakened metabolism weakens the immune system, leading to illness and ultimately death.

Trebes applied the specific knowledge he had acquired over the years to create NACAR, a product with a unique purpose. Rather than trying to be just another mineral or vitamin supplement, NACAR is designed as a nutraceutical to improve the body's ability to absorb nutrients from the food we consume. Trebes sought measurable results, both subjective and objective, to demonstrate NACAR's effectiveness. To validate its effect, he measured biomarkers in his blood, such as Q10 and Glutathione, as indicators of improved nutrient absorption and distribution. The results were positive and showed that NACAR positively influences food metabolism, strengthens the immune system and can alleviate various autoimmune diseases.

Personal note from the founder

I remember exactly the moment when everything came together. I was standing on the bank of a river, deep in the Amazon. The water was dark and clear at the same time, drenched in humic acids, the digested life of the rainforest.

There, where the river flowed into the ocean, two worlds met: the fresh water of the interior and the salt water of the sea, or brackish water.
I watched and imagined how the minerals from the rainforest mixed with the ions of the ocean. And suddenly I saw something that, as a die-hard beta, I had never really understood before. In that confluence of waters revealed a subtle balance, a natural complex that fed everything around it. Plants, shells, fish big and small: everything flourished, everything lived through that perfect balance. At that interface between fresh and salt, nature seemed to give away its secret. Namely, that life constantly regenerates itself, simply through a continuum of connection and balance.

What has continued to fascinate me ever since is that Nacar is not made by machines or chemical processes, but by living creatures themselves. Shellfish absorb minerals dissolved in sea or river water, an invisible, liquid form of matter, as it were, and through their metabolism convert them into solid, crystalline structures: their shell.

In other words, they transform dissolved minerals into mineralised mass. A miraculous process of natural bio-mineralisation, in which something ephemeral becomes durable and tangible. In that process lies the essence of Nacar: nature organising its own chemistry into living matter.

NACAR's formula contains more than ninety biologically bound minerals and trace elements, exactly as they occur in nature. We call them cofactors: little keys that activate dormant enzymes in the body. Enzymes are the silent engines of life. They convert food into energy, repair cells, regulate hormones and even influence your mood. Without enzymes, life is impossible.
